i just snapped several exciting (at least seen) thingy when living in Probolinggo. because every single picture had its own story and say everything.

Theese 5 photos were captured in Kraksaan Townsquare where "Pasar Rakyat" held by Probolinggo local government for celebrating "Hari Koperasi". Fortunately, i was there.

this monument placed in Kraksaan Town Square, Probolinggo. this will ensure the flag waved as its pillar. like another town square, many ceremonial celebration held here, Koperasi Wanita day on a couple month ago for example.

that ceremonial celebration for Koperasi Wanita day, started by Traditional Opening Dance show. Its actually for keeping our culture alive. because our culture's our identity who really we are. never forget that you are what your mother country made you!

canting

canting, a traditonal batik hand tool from our Indonesia. its used to apply wax in fine dots and lines on a cloth. wherever the waxs applied, cloth resists the next dye bath that its put in.

Batik-ing

Batik Pattern khas Probolinggo

batik manggur, Probolinggo's. a cloth which traditionally made using manual wax-resist dyeing technique. This is traditional batik especially from Probolinggo has notable meanings rooted to the Maduranese conceptualization of the universe. traditional colours include RGB, Red Green Blue, which represent the spirit of the maduranese. tis batik have its own unique pattern. Manggur means, MANGga angGUR. but actually the pattern's normally take themes from everyday lives, incorporating patterns such as flower and fruits. it means that Probolinggo pridelands's good in farming that could make their citizen's prosperous and safe.

van Dongen dan Inspirasi "Rampokan"nya

Merasa familiar dengan detil background setting komik tersebut? Coba lihat becak dan supirnya, model rumahnya, design gerobak pedagangnya, atmosfirnya, semuanya. Iya, itu disini, di Indonesia. Tapi, kok berbahasa belanda?
Aku mengenalnya sekitar 5 tahun silam, tepatnya ketika aku baru saja duduk di bangku SMA, dan masih belajar sejarah. Adalah Peter van Dongen. Sungguh, aku tidak sengaja mengenalnya melalui media maha informasi ini ketika guru sejarahku memberi tugas tentang gambaran kehidupan masyarakat pasca kemerdekaan. Tiba-tiba saja satu klik itu membawaku memasuki page yang berjudul "Rampokan Java". Satu komik (tepatnya novel grafis) sejarah mengenai Indonesia pasca kemerdekaan yang dibuat oleh Peter van Dongen. WOW! Kupikir, ini dibuat oleh komikus Indonesia karena visualisasi garis - garis hitam lugas background lingkungan sekelilingnya tergambar dengan jelas dan detil sehingga memberi informasi sejarah yang mengesankan tentang Indonesia saat itu. Ternyata ini dibuat oleh komikus kawakan berkebangsaan Belanda, bahkan hingga diterbitkan sebagai serial komik dalam sisipan PS di harian Het Parool sejak 14 Juli 1998. Can you imagine? Cerita sejarah bangsa kita dimuat di harian Bangsa lain. Di media harian kita? NOT (yet).
Ya, Belanda adalah salah satu negeri komik terpenting di Eropa Barat, bahkan dunia. Melahirkan komikus hebat seperti Martin Lodewijk Hans G. Kresse, Peter de Smet, dan Peter van Dongen. Kenapa hebat? Selalu komik-komik tersebut memvisualkan atmosfir lingkungan yang hampir sama dengan aslinya dengan coretan garis hitam lugas nan detil. van Dongen misalnya, jangan mengira pembuatan komik Rampokan Java tersebut karena van Dongen telah hidup berpuluh tahun di Indonesia, sehingga komiknya hampir mendekati akurat dengan berbagai kebiasaan lokal masyarakat kita. Tidak, ia belum pernah sekalipun tinggal atau bahakan menginjakkan kaki di Indonesia selama proses pengerjaan komik. van Dongen hanya memvisualkan cerita-cerita ibunya yang seorang warga Sulawesi, ditambah dengan literatur dan foto-foto tua yang didapatnya di Museum Tropis Amsterdam. Tentu dibutuhkan proses kreatif yang super untuk memvisualkan apa yang tidak pernah ia alami menjadi gubahan gambar yang detil dan hampir mendekati akurat.
Setertarik itukah Belanda dengan Indonesia hingga sejarahnya dimuat di harian lokal setempat?
Ingat dengan ungkapan "Bangsa yang besar adalah bangsa yang menghargai sejarahnya"? Mungkin ungkapan klasik itulah yang dipegang teguh oleh masyarakat Belanda. Sering kali kita lupa bahwa sejarah begitu penting bagi perjalanan suatu bangsa. Melalui sejarah, kita belajar menghargai tetes darah dan keringat pendahulu untuk apa yang kita nikmati saat ini. Bentuk apresiasi terhadap sejarah, adalah bagaimana kita memelihara benda-benda peninggalan sejarah, dan membungkus kisah-kisah masa lampau tersebut dalam kemasan yang dapat dinikmati oleh generasi kini, dengan pendekatan kekinian juga. Belanda, begitu cantik dengan bangunan-bangunan bersejarah, dan juga museum yang tersebar di seluruh penjuru kota. Belanda juga menyimpan begitu banyak bukti sejarah otentik dari negara yang pernah disinggahinya. Apalagi, kini telah ditetapkan Modernisering monumentenzorg/MoMo yaitu peraturan modernisasi perawatan monumen. Dengannya, dimungkinkan lingkungan disekitar monumen juga ikut dilindungi (bukan hanya monumennya saja). Pemandangan, kanal, dan tanggul-tanggul sekitar monumen dianggap sebagai warisan kebudayaan yang sangat berharga. Mungkin harusnya, Belanda tak hanya dijuluki sebagai The Fourth World Happiness Report karena kesejahteraan masyarakatnya, Best International Venue karena kehebatan aristekturnya. Tapi juga Most Historic Preservation Effort untuk upaya pelestarian barang bersejarah.

irwan, the high achiever

Irwan kalo udah gede pengen jadi apa?

aku pengen jadi fotografer

Sepenggal prolog percakapan itulah yang membuatku tertarik dengan anak ini. Namanya Irwan. Ah, aku lupa menanyakan nama panjangnya. Oke, mungkin bukan hanya karena aku lupa tapi juga karena serentetan aktivitas yang membuatnya tak betah duduk disampingku. Iya, dia super-duper-hyperaktif-SEKALI.

Asiik. Akhirnya dia duduk disampingku. Waktu itu, hari terakhirku, dan teman-teman ber-KKN di Desa Batokan, desa dengan sentra industri kerajinan kayunya, desa yang dekat Cepu dan Taman "Seribu" Lampu. Irwan menyentuh kamera Canon EOS 1000D yang semula ada ditanganku. Aku tersenyum, lalu mengajarkannya bagaimana cara memegang dan mengambil gambar menggunakan kamera itu. Irwan pun langsung mencobanya. Bahagia sekali dia. Sungguh! Dia kembali ke pangkuanku sambil memperlihatkan hasil jepretannya. "Irwan kalo gede pengen jadi apa?", tanyaku. "Aku pengen jadi fotografer", jawabnya. Aku terpaku. In my whole life, baru kali ini ada anak TK jawab pertanyaan cita-cita selain dokter dan polisi. Dan itulah mengapa aku sangat setuju dengan adanya kelas inspirasi bapak Anies Baswedan yang memperkenalkan beberapa pekerjaan (selain dokter&polisi) kepada siswa SD. Lalu kutanya lagi, "Irwan gak pengen jadi dokter?". "mmmm.. iya, pengen". "Trus mau jadi apalagi?". "mmm.. jadi polisi juga". Aku pun tertawa. Entah menertawakan Irwan dg triple role nya, atau menertawakan aku yang sampai saat ini masih ragu untuk bermimpi terlalu tinggi. Semakin tua, semakin takut jatuh. Itulah mengapa lutut kita saat ini sungguh "mulus", tanpa luka ataupun plester. Aku teringat, aku pun dulu seperti Irwan. Bercita-cita menjadi dokter yang parttime jadi arsitek. Alasanku, simple saja. Dokter, pekerjaan yang dapet duit banyak. Arsitek, dari duit banyak itu aku bikin jadi rumah yang kuarsiteki sendiri. Thats all. Dan, mungkin kuakui, Irwan lebih keren karena ada tambahan pengen jadi fotografer. Entah mengapa pekerjaan fotografer itu keren. ya, keren aja gitu hhe. Ketuaan dan segala pengetahuan yang aku miliki saat ini membuatku semakin berfikir dengan risiko yang akan ditanggung setelah melakukan suatu hal. Penuh pertimbangan, dan ah, akhirnya play save. Payah! Irwan dong, aku pengen ya aku kejar. Jatoh? Khan bisa diplester (:

        Thats what my calendar showed! iya, ini waktunya mengakhiri masa volunteer mariBERAKSI yang telah saya ceritakan kapan hari itu. Yang telah saya tanda tangani MoU nya 6 bulan lalu. Yang telah memberi saya pengalaman baru. dan, yang telah memberi saya keluarga baru :). Gala dinner kali ini memang untuk itu, sebagai farewel party yang mempertemukan kami, para volunteer region Surabaya dengan pihak penyelenggara, PT. Darya Varia Lab. Untuk sekedar bersilaturahmi, and end this agreement officially. (tp yg paling penting adalah makan enak gratis di Handayani #eh). Kami mengakhiri masa tugas kami sebagai volunteer mariBERAKSI setelah melakukan AKSI kami yang ketiga di daerah Ngebel, Ponorogo. Thats the most awesome of three! (mungkin karena aksi yang terakhir kali yak :D)

21, Legal and Lethal

it was November 2nd. and i was officially 21. officially legal drinking age. officially called as adult. officially conceptualized in law. asiiik udah boleh nikah. hha. kidding :)) brb. time went so fast since i got nothing done. i feel like mmm i dont know. things like i got undescribeable feeling. happy, sad, regret, proud. let me tell you from the easiest to the hardest feel. cz if i end this curcol with the easiest, happy thing, seems like there's no more to do and my life gonna be happily ever after like a fairytale :) so, thing that made me happy placed on the beginning. i expect this will be a self-reflection by ending with the hardest one. (actually not as hard as it seems sih. hha)

PRESENTS. yeaay! but actually what i need is just about attention and care. feel my existence. feel that there was someone born named LAILUL ILLIYAH with her struggle to stand up and feel many world anomaly. the way they write on my socmed page. the way they say simple happy birthday in the middle of class, warmhug, "cipika-cipiki", jokes, trivias, treat threat forced-asking :)) successfully made teary eyes :') thankies thank you, kakak2 sekalian. i do love love love <3

Feel Proud ...
yeay, congratulation for my self. for being cooperative within physics and mental stuff (despite you both are quite having fight sometimes). for having quality time with my assignments along night, till drop. for reaching this line, this 21 line. for facing any kind of world anomaly. for being 21-daddy's girl. for being me totally, with no forced. and for achieving 80% YEAR-RESOLUTION. yeay. Be ready for the next resolution, Dear I am.

MIDTERM EXAMS yeay! and my smartphone was getting worse :(( keong! though i got the new one, but i still hoping for its recovery. i still hope "his" pin will be appeared in my contact. hha. i wish :))

most regretness this year : not attending my bro graduation :'(( but i ensure myself that im gonna get learn from this way. helping them to improve their health degree, i hope you understand. do appologize :'))
aaand oke. when i read the quote above, i was whispering myself : what u've done along 21 years huh? when elvis presley got his begining of his way to succeed his life, and I'm just right here, sitting in this static chair. But its unfair if i compare to him cz we're just different, totally. he was with his macho-hair, pointed nose :D aand passionately singing. he was damned ROCK! king of rock. hha. But I think, we're just in the same begining, to the new journey. to succeed our life. If elvis had gone  to Hollywood on his 21's, im going to different way. out of my routine. something new. and im sure it will be a blast! joining the world's largest student-run organization focused on providing a platform for proffessional youth leadership development and global network expansion. I never expected before. i have to take this chance. chalenging myself for begining to the world challenge. are curious what organization is, sooo ...... to be continued. hha

Does "Tangan di atas lebih baik daripada tangan di bawah" still show its existence??

that was my lecture question in a Health Policy and Administration class i've joined a few days ago.
yeah, we knew that it's a mostly-said-proverb around us which have meaning that a giver better than begger. even our parents did it too. try for planting those proverb as a seed in our mind field.
but have you ever think from another side of
that those proverb should not use (or even can't be applied) in marketting?

Marketing is essentially about marshalling the resources of an organization
so that they meet the changing needs of the customer on whom the organization depends.
yeah, we could say that marketing are focused upon customer orientation and satisfaction of customer needs.

"tangan diatas" means giving something. thats a good side of it. but feel it, is it like giving
something that we dont need anymore? or even like a richest give something to the poorest?
you might have your own answer. but the most important one, it means that "tangan diatas"
had pushed his will for giving something. they never want to know even "tangan dibawah"
didn't need it. they didnt care about what "tangan dibawah" needed. they didn't give them THE CHOICE.
"tangan dibawah" means accepting something from the giver. they looks like a begger even they aren't.
they didn't have a choice to choose.

ANALOGY, "tangan diatas" is a marketer who focused upon customer orientation and satisfaction of customer needs.
"tangan dibawah" is customer. AND consumers like choice. They like to choose.
Choose, make them feel comfortable and confident with the product to be bought.
You can just feel that the product that you show to the front of their noses is the best,
but remember, you are NOT them.

Never choose something for consumers, UNLESS they request. Even though they ask for anything,
you should still show and compare it with other options. ensure that in your bussiness consumers have choice.

Choose, make consumers feel valued, confident, and ultimately easier to take the decision to buy." iLul

So, lets say :
tangan diatas lebih baik daripada tangan dibawah.
tapi akan sangat lebih terhormat jika posisi tangan kita equal.
